Gnomework

A jaunt through the redwoods and soon after I arrived in Washington, my sister in law and I started gardening. I had a silly vision of lining their yard with gnomes, a prank, I mused. I decided I would start with one. We went to Gnome Goods and I gleefully acquired our new garden fixture. I showed my mom the yard statue, and my sister-in-law side-eyed her and chimed in, “She doesn’t even know about me and the gnomes.” Unbeknownst to me, she’s totally into gnomes and she shared they decorated their entire christmas tree with gnomes last year. So gnome energy does resides there, and I felt it! 

Calling in gnomes and playing with the energy of their archetype helped our garden grow.

And this isn’t just about fantasy, it’s about neuroplasticity, healing, and the soul’s language.

Believing in gnomes isn’t just cute, it’s powerful.

Believing these gnomes were helping me in the garden took some of the pressure off me to get it all right my first time around. They also help tend to the garden, of course, and share in the work.

Symbols become language. Gnomes, like dreams, give the psyche a way to speak, reorganize, and feel safe. So if we want to believe these little gnomes are helping us garden, we are also helping our soul bloom…
