Pluto’s Jungle was painted prior to my journey into the Amazon rainforest of Peru in 2023. It holds the essence of wild expansion. The reclining woman rests across the jaguar, embodying the process of feminine surrender.
The jaguar prowls without hesitation, guiding initiates through shadow into vision and is deeply honored in Amazonian traditions.
This energy is woven into the piece, carrying the medicine of courage, spiritual sight, and transformation. Of all my works, this one remains especially dear to me.
I want to acknowledge the Shipibo-Conibo, an Indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon, for sharing their medicine, their art, and their icaros, their sacred songs, with me. The course of my life, my heart and my consciousness have been touched in the most profound ways. I will continue to carry and spread the love and wisdom of what I received from them for the rest of my life.
Pluto’s Jungle carries the imprint of that journey and it is a prayer of gratitude and a vow of remembrance. Whether you too are connected to the wildness of the jungle, the teachings of the jaguar, may this piece illuminate something extraordinary within your space and within you.
It was many years that I held onto this piece, unwilling to sell it, and now that I have integrated its teachings I am ready for this token to find its home. If that is with you, its my great honor to have it shipped to you today.
